The purpose of this course is to provide graduate students who are currently doing research and writing theses or scientific research reports in English to advance their English writing skills. As such, an important focus of the course is to provide an in-depth study of English grammar and sentence structure, particularly as it applies to research writing. Material from the students’ own English theses or research reports will be analyzed and revised in class. Weekly writing assignments will be based on the specific needs of the students in the course. Each student’s final grade will be based on his or her mid-term exam (35%), final exam (40%), and weekly writing assignments (25%)
